The highlight of the week was my first KIFF. I was giddy every day of the festival like I used to during Foss.In or the initial Functional Conf events.
The rest of the time this week, I worked on the ATProto sync foundation I am building with Unison Cloud libraries like Volturno and Arcella. There were some initial environment issues that the fantastic folks at Unison quickly fixed, and later realised that I might need to change the syncing strategy to align the event sourcing and streaming pipelines properly.
I was also listening and reading about Tigerstyle, the style guide created by folks at TigerBeetle. I really like their very fresh take on many system-level programming issues, which also turn out to be generic programming guidelines for achieving safe, legible, and performant code. I am trying to incorporate some of them in my implementations now.
This week, I restarted my workouts after a nearly 3-week break. It was tough on the first day, but now I am getting my rhythm back. It's fun to feel macho after a challenging workout, as long as it lasts. But as it was from the beginning, my main agenda behind working out is to clear up my podcast queues š
