• With my newfound confidence & unlimited enthusiasm on Unison Cloud, I have also begun migrating kaushikc.org from static rendering via GitHub to Unison Cloud.

    • I am using the static-site library which uploads & serves static content from the Object storage of Unison Cloud

    • Like some others in the community, I also wanted to upload static text files not only to Object storage but also embed them as text terms in the Unison codebase. Unison right now does not provide any direct function or meta-programming way to achieve the same. But then Unison Codebase Manager(UCM) comes with an inbuilt MCP server which enables MCP clients like Cursor or Claude CLI to directly add code to the Unison codebase without adding the code to scratch.u. And MCP is just a JSON RPC spec.

      • So, I just leveraged the same spec & implemented a simple MCP client in Unison itself, which will use a couple of UCM MCP capabilities to embed the textual content of the static files as text terms in the Unison codebase. The code of the same is present as a separate branch of the same static-site project. I will have more on it in the coming weeks.Ā

  • Unfortunately, my 9-year-old daughter is showing a keen interest in computing & scratch-based programming. Thanks to the mindless push on those in schools. So, I reformatted my Linux laptop, maybe the 77th time, to set up a new distribution. It's like one of those long-harvested guilty pleasures that I partake in at least 3 times a year since almost 2 & 1/2 decades. Well, this time it's Zorin OS for Education.

    • I want her to realise that there is a better universe than Windows & Mac. And how limiting mobile platforms & games are compared to the limitless world of desktop systems.Ā

  • India's abysmal Test performance with South Africa is nothing to write about. The way our guys batted seemed more like they were keen to finish the game and start preparing for the upcoming one-dayers & T20 series. I am looking forward to the next Ashes game hoping the Aussies & Englishmen might stick to their Test roots more than their current bazzball indulgences.
